Rogationtide, a time to seek blessings

ROGATION SUNDAY NORMALLY FALLS in the middle of May, traditionally a time when Christians pray for God’s blessings on our crops, our gardens and our orchards. It seems that the Victorian invention of Harvest Festival largely displaced the much-older tradition of Rogation (from the Latin verb rogare, to ask), but in recent years it has made a comeback.
