MY MOTHER-IN-LAW NUDGED ME and pointed at their 50th anniversary photo display.
At first glance it was a normal wedding photo. A younger her, beautifully dressed, walking into the church on her father’s arm.
Then I noticed. Tucked away in the corner of the church where the wedding was taking place sat a coffin, unobtrusively minding its own business. While my in-laws were starting a new life together, someone else was waiting to say goodbye to theirs.
