‘I WAS ALWAYS good at ART at school and really wanted to find a practical way of using my artistic ability. So, in 1976, I did a degree in Visual Arts at the University of Victoria, Canada. I found some work in theatre as an assistant scenic artist, but it didn’t lead anywhere.’
