In praise of imagination
The imagination is a crucial and exciting tool in faith and the sciences, argues Helen Billam

Imagination is underrated. We often speak of being imaginative disparagingly: to mean airy-fairy, childish or, worse, dishonest. At church, people seldom speak of imagination, perhaps fearing that it will undermine notions of faith or belief (there is, after all, much crossover between the three). Yet imagination is the bedrock of creativity and innovation, and is a powerful component of both faith and science.
