WHAT DOES A JAR OF MUSTARD MATTER? I was interested to see an announcement that Colman’s of Norwich (purveyors of my favourite condiment) are reuniting with their city of origin by sponsorship of Norwich City Football Club, three years after the factory gates were closed by the global parent company, moving production from East Anglia to Burton-on-Trent and Germany. Production for 160 years in Norwich left a significant imprint on local identity, to the extent that Historic England afforded several sites in the city listed status as part of Norwich’s ‘mustard heritage’.
