THE MYSTERIOUS MOON has played a significant role in art and literature. It has often been associated with peace and love, helping to express calmness and beauty, whilst in folklore and magic it has been related to such things as rabbits and the man-in-the-moon. In many cultures the moon has been presented in symbolic terms, for example in Chinese culture as a symbol of harmony, unity and family reunion.
