A quiet place
Lockdown sent us all on an enforced retreat of sorts, but now life is returning to normal the opportunity to take time out from the busy routine is still available to us, says Marguerite Hutchinson

THINK BACK TO TUESDAY 24 March 2020, the morning after the first COVID-19 lockdown was announced. Remember those images of places empty at rush hour? Central London with scarcely a person, motorways with just a few cars, empty station concourses. These will all remain in my mind as defining images of lockdown. Life was suddenly different for everyone.
