My time as a volunteer in Taizé
Lisa Doyle describes her experience of living with the Taizé community
FOR MOST PEOPLE, Taizé is synonymous with the music – and whilst it plays a big role, Taizé is a lot more than that. The ecumenical community of brothers in the tiny village of Taizé, in Burgundy, France, has the vocation of welcoming people from all continents and religious backgrounds to share their way of life. I had been to Taizé with friends and my youth church held a Taizé prayer every week, so I was moving to a familiar environment as I prepared mentally for university.
