THERE IS RACISM IN THE CHURCH. Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, tweeted: “The Church has failed here and still does, and it’s clear what Jesus commands us to do: repent and take action.”
Listen to the stories of those who feel they “can’t breathe”, that their contributions to church
life are choked. My family came from the West Indies and expected to be welcomed into church. Some were brazenly turned away. Others were met with subtle forms of micro- aggression: “Perhaps you might find it more comfortable worshipping somewhere else?” Their gift to the Church was rejected.
