What makes a good story? Rebecca Yorke recalls how her own grief and anger created a memorable performance during her Riding Lights days
IN 1999 I DEVISED Losing It, a play based on a US school massacre. It focused on Christ’s call to show strength through love and challenged the view that problems can be solved by violence. I was myself struck by violent upheavals during the tour. At a late addition to our schedule, I was reeling from the news that my best friend from school had died. Here I was, in a play about turning the other cheek and all I wanted to do was smash something.
