Belyu wonders if the lack of rainfall is a punishment from God

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF when you think of climate change?

Perhaps you see polar ice caps melting, as emaciated polar bears wander through a fading arctic landscape. Perhaps you see a small Pacific island community, struggling to continue with normal life amid ever-rising sea levels. Perhaps you see a violent tropical storm ripping through towns and cities with alarming ferocity, destroying everything in its wake. I see Belyu. I see a woman whose daily life carries the scars of a rapidly changing climate. I see the personal impact that the changing climate has on a mother who, full of dignity and grace, welcomed me into her home and shared her story with me.
