A QUICK TRIP TO THE ARCHIVES revealed that the first ever issue of magnet also covered the themes of home and belonging.

The following excerpts, with their sense of displacement and homesickness, are surprisingly relevant to the ongoing experience of thousands of immigrants today.

 

 

Most of us can only imagine the feelings of fear and loss that come with a permanent move to another country; a place which is meant to be home but has not yet become that. I wonder where these two women are now. I hope they eventually found that sense of home that is more than four walls and a roof.
